Effects of Spinal Cord Injury:
Loss of sensation and motor function below the point of injury
Affected functions and/or complications may include: 
* Bowel and bladder function.  * Sexual function.  * Loss of breathing (need mechanical ventilation). * Regulation of heart rate, blood pressure, sweating and hence body temperature. * Spasticity (increased reflexes and stiffness of the limbs). * Neuropathic pain. * Atrophy of muscle. * Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome * Osteoporosis (loss of calcium) and bone degeneration. * Gallbladder and renal stones.
